Camera Equipment 2 (Charles Mossman)

The camera equipment that we have been currently using the Samsung Galaxy S4 camera. The group has been using another similar camera piece of equipment but we have decided to primarily make use of this camera as it it has an additional anti-shake feature so therefore when viewing the footage we have conducted the camera will not give unsteady approach which will provide the group with a more professional outlook to our music video. Below is the image of this equipment used as well as an embed code to a website we have found displaying the use of the camera itself.

Vidoes from Second Day of Filming (Anthony Black)

Below are a few videos taken from the second day of the group filming the music video, this time the location for filming the music video was the Liverpool Docks.

Potential Album Cover and Tour Poster

While the group was filming for the second stage for the process of creating the music video, we were able to take a variety of still images for our potential album cover and tour poster. The group has finally come to the decision as to what images we will be using for our album cover and poster. these images were taken in the process of creating the music video and so the chosen location will help to reflect and promote the music video we are creating to our demographic. We believe that these images are suitable for the media products we will be producing as well as them being effective images to use.

Second day of Production - Photoshoot 2

On the photo- shoot the group received about 1 minute worth of footage that can be used for our music video. Whilst at the location we decided to take some images as well that could be used for an album cover or poster which will be uploaded upon the next group. We did encounter some problems when recording as we needed to make sure no one apart from the actor was in the shot, however the group were able to successfully and confidently construct the filming process as we have already done this once before.

Weather for second day of filming (Anthony Black)

This is the weather forecast for the second day of filming which will be on Tuesday,  this should be good weather for filming at the Albert Dock for the second location for the groups music video. Its going to be alright today as its not going to rain so filming should not be a problem for the group. A problem we could have is that we might have glare is some images depending on how we take them and we could have a problem with shadows from us in the group who aren't meant to be in videos or images so we will have to be careful of this.

Inspiration (Charles Mossman)

While filming the process of creating our music video, an effective scene was the establishing shot taken of Liverpool City Skyline. I thought that this was a brilliant idea in regards to the music video as it would help to create a more engaging media product in terms of  the audience/demographic. I had taken this inspiration from a past trip to New York City were from my perspective I was able to receive an outstanding view from the Empire State Building and other famous buildings. I have inserted a few images from the past images I have taken to represent the idea for our outline of our music video.

Videos from First Day of filming (Anthony Black)

Below are a few videos from our first day of filming, some clips I try to upload don't work correctly so I cant upload all the videos I have as most of them don't work when I try to upload them onto blogger. The location for filming the music video was around St. John's Gardens as well as the Library that is nearby.

Group Production Ideas

While we have been discussing and coming up with ideas on how to make our music video professional and effective towards the demogrpahic the group have deicded to conduct some research into what camer anagles and movement intend to be the most effective and most popular within film processing. The group has found a video which displays the camera movements that intend to be most effective which has given the group a better outline as to how the music video is constructed. This intends to be the groups inspiration as a whole as to how we are and have already constructed our music video.

Call Sheet (Charles Mossman)

Yesterday the group went out on location to start the filming process for our music video. Doing the process every team member had a specific job role including an actor, director being the primary camera man a photographer photographing behind the scene and a health and care assistant ensuring that the surrounding arrears were suitable to film . In order to guide us throughout the process we used the storyboards as well as constructing our own ideas which provided the group with a variety of camera shot/angles and certain camera movements in terms of the editing process.

While creating the music video we had taken the risk assessments into consideration by ensuring the weather was suitable and ensuring that the surrounding areas within our first location was not overcrowded. Below is the sheet in which presents the call sheet which outlines our activities during the day, transportation details and job roles.

First day of filming - PhotoShoot 1

Today we started our filming process for our music video in the first location being St Johns Garden, very near St Georges Hall. Whilst there we thought it would be a good idea to get an establishing shot from a higher angles so we went to the roof of the library. The overall experience while filming was a difficult process to encounter as we wanted to secure a safe and well established environment. However the other group members within the process were able to successfully construct the video process within this location. Below are several numbers of images that we have uploaded taken from the photo shoot.

Images from First Day of Filming the Music Video (Anthony Black)

Below are a few images from the first day of filming the music video.  I did take a lot of photo's of the filming on the day but here a few of them. The location for the music video and were these images were taken was the area around St. Johns Gardens.

Risk Assessment (Kieran Winrow)

Our group has produced a risk assessment for the three locations that we will be going to film at and stating any potential hazards that may arise when we are out filming.

One of the group members Charles Mossman has created a table stating our two primary hazards that may occur when going on location to film for the music video in which I have inserted below. As well as this he has taken advice from skillset.org in term of hazards that will help the group identify any hazards and what the group can do to prevent them. I have also inserted the screenshot below.

It is very important that the group consider these hazards and ensure that we apply the safety measures that must be in place so that know one will be put at any risk. Other risk assessment sheets that the group have filled in are photographed on the blog.

Job Roles (Charles Mossman)

In terms of what job roles each of the team members will be requiring while we film for the production of creating the music video, we have decided to give each and everyone one of us a certain responsibility to upheld. This is to ensure that we can safely and effectively create a successful music video. There are 4 members within the group and below are the specific job roles we have decided to upheld in our position. However in order to acquire and know the specific job roles in the groups media production, we conducted some research by finding a website to know the titles of the job roles in the media which is embed below as well as the job roles.

Weather for the first day of filming (Anthony Black)

This is a weather forecast for tomorrow when me and the rest of the group start filming for the first location of the music video. The weather should be good for filming as its going to be sunny today so this makes it better to film. As out first location is St. John's Park the weather will be good so we can take pictures and film.

Actor Contracts (Anthony Black)

This is the acting contract for the music video, I found a template online for an acting contract and changed it to be suited to the music video. As you can see  below the contract has been signed by the group company and the actor in which is agreeing to be part of the music video post production.

This is where i found the template for the contract I have edited it to suit a music video.

Camera Equipment (Charles Mossman)

In order for the group to film the process of creating the music video we have decided to use a specific video camera that I have used before in the past. The camera that the group will be shooting with is known as  the Samsung HMX - W200 camera. We have decided to use this camera because from analyzing it and trying it out it seems to be the best quality cameras we have found as it records in full high definition and so the music video is more likely to become more effective to the audience. The camera is also waterproof and shockproof and therefore it is very unlikely that there will be any potential hazards or damage that might occur with this camera. Below I have inserted a video that I have found that demonstrates the use of this camera for its specific purpose.

Production Log - Mise En Scene

In terms of costumes and props that the group will be using to create a music video, we have decided to choose a casual and informal clothing type for the actor to wear . The group have decided to go for this choice in terms of clothing because we believe that it will suit the genre of the song indie/pop and therefore will help to reflect our chosen genre style. The mise will also help the groups music video to aim towards our demographic of the younger generation as the causal look especially towards youth/young adults will entice the audience take a keener interest into our music video. Below are a few images of the type of clothing that the actor will be wearing within the music video that will help to reflect the casual and informal appearance.

Production Log - Location

The group will soon begin the starting process of creating our music video. Drawing up from the storyboard that we have created, the group have now finally decided our 3 primary location as to where our music video will be filmed, processed, constructed and photographed. Our location will be within area around Liverpool and especially within the City Centre. The City Centre will be the overall primary location for filming our music video because it will help to reflect its well known reputation for the City's culture in music.

Our chosen locations include the area of St Georges Hall, The Albert Dock and Crosby Beach. We believe that In terms of the locations which the group have decided to shoot and film our music video the locations will help to establish and emphasize the songs emotion and set the scene towards the demographic audience. Below is a short slide show in which presents the groups chosen locations.

Brief Story Board

For the groups first stages of production we have decided to create a brief story board that outlines how the team are going to construct and process our music video. The story board represents the number of shots we are planing to do as well as the locations and certain camera movements/shots that the group will be processing. Doing this task has allowed the group to be more organised and has provided a clearer outline/idea in regards to contructing the music video that we will be creating. The group will also be uploading a shooting script as well as a risk assessment document before we will be constructing our music video.  Below are the image taken from the storyboard.

Director plans & Director for Video (Kieran)

Director
Today in our group I (Kieran) asked whether there should be a director for the video so that we can organise how we are going to shoot the video and where people will be standing so that we can get the scenes we need and have someone in charge of the recording process.

So I volunteered to become the director and the group said they wouldn't mind me taking on the role so whilst producing the storyboards and thinking of locations in which we could use for our music video I took the liberty of looking at some popular locations throghout Liverpool and I came up with 3 locations in which to shoot in and after using the map I produced some direction sheets after producing a storyboard so that we knew how we were going to direct the actor and where everyone will be standing.

Annotation of Lyrics (Kieran Winrow)

This is my personal feeling of what the lyrics might be about but this is just my opinion and I could be wrong but the group went through it after I had completed it and said that they think that the lyrics do fit with the explanation that I have given for the lyrics.

Sam Smith - Stay With Me Lyrics

For our final groups song choice, we have decided to upload the lyrics in regards to the groups choice as to who will be starring and lip syncing within the music video. Below I have embedded the document as to where we have typed out lyrics to the song.  Doing this will then allow the person in our group to help and revise the lyrics so that the lip syncing will be done correctly while processing the groups music video.
